SD400 – Moving on Up

My poor digital bit the dust.

As some of you may remember, I purchased a Canon S200 back in early 2003. This camera served admirably – taking most of the pictures found in the Galleries.

Then, last October, my little camera would not capture any image. All functions, including the LCD screen appeared to be working, but no image would appear on the film. It had lasted the summer in Europe. What a trooper.

I did some research. It turns out that some Canon cameras have an issue with the CCD portion literally being disconnected.

So I jumped through Canon’s hoops and eventually got them to accept my camera for repair.

Yesterday, Canon sent me a refurbished SD400 to replace my little camera.

It seems to be a nice camera, but now I have to buy new accessories – film / memory & another battery to be fulling back up and running.

Still, I appreciate Canon’s efforts to take care of me as a customer and continue to recommend their cameras to others.

The Emperor’s Cartographers

Of all the Emperor’s forces, none are more dangerous and anonymous than the Emperor’s Cartographers.

The Cartographers are a select order of well-trained explorers. They each have a personal letter from the Emperor giving them free leave throughout the land. These letters are even effective outside of the Empire, granting each Cartographer the status of ambassador.

The stated-mission of every Cartographer is to more closely document the lands they travel. Adding hills and trees and roads to every map they make, the Cartographer’s add to the military might of the Empire. Know the land you fight upon, and you know how to defeat your enemy.

Yet, the Cartographer’s possess more secret skills. Their steady, map-drawing hands can also copy and forge many documents. Each is trained in traveling fast & light over tough terrain and in the worst conditions. Finally, no one questions the martial prowess of a man that passes through the domains of bandits, monsters, or worse.

Each Cartographer is a man trained in observation and hardened by the road. Together, they serve as the eyes & spies of the Emperor.

Mammaw’s Mustard Dip

1 Can (14 oz.) Sweetened Condensed Milk
1/4 Cup Ground or Prepared Mustard
3 Tbsp. Prepared Horseradish
1 Tbsp. Worchestershire Sauce

In a bowl combine all ingredients until smooth (mustard will thicken as it stands). Store in refrigerator. Yields 1 1/2 cups.

Note! To make hot & zippy dip for pretzels and egg rolls, use ground mustard. To make a milder sweeter sauce that’s very good with ham & turkey, use prepared mustard.

**Very good (original recipe) spread over a ham before baking.
