ROME starts here!

Let’s input some details:

Wednesday, April 16
I’m flying out of Chicago on on KLM / Northwest Air to Amsterdam. Depending on the airline name, that’s flight number KLM 612 / NW 8612.

Thursday, April 17
After hopping on a short connecting flight, I arrive in Rome. I’ll be staying at Hotel Romae in the Termini section of town.

Tuesday, April 22
I’ll be leaving Rome in the evening and have an all night layover in Amsterdam.

Wednesday, April 23
Flying back across the pond on KLM again. It’s flight number KLM 611. I’ll arrive in Chicago; grab the car from Sally’s place and trek back to St. Louie.

Anyone needing to reach me, use the Illegitimatesun.com email. I can check it from abroad.

The book I’m taking to read – The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown.

Ciao

Catching up on things past:

Saw the Cowboy Beebop movie. It was amazing. A lesson in what good anime can be. There was one fanservice moment, but that’s inevitable in this genre.

Saw Head of State. It’s bad; don’t waste your time.

Got another haircut. I didn’t need it, but knew that I would need one while travelling abroad. It was just easier to get it done.

I’ve begun The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown. One chapter in and I’m already hooked.

I took the FWSE this weekend. In all honesty, the test seemed too easy. I have to wait now for 2-3 months before I get my results and see if I advance to the next elimination round.

Hey we toppled a statue. That must mean the war is over!

You could hear the media’s collective orgasm at this orchestrated media event. Stupid analogies have come out of too many mouths. ‘Iraq regime toppled.’ ‘The statue – like the regime – was hollow.’ Yesterday, there were brief news blurbs on the hospitals of Baghdad being overwhelmed. Today, we get a statue. Jesus, it was even pulled down by Marines, not the public as the media would have you believe.

I’m bitter, upset, and have a caffeine withdrawl headache.

Already the far right is preening. The outcome of the war was never in doubt, you heartless moron. We were protesting GOING to war in the first place.

I’m by myself in the office today. You know what that means. No lunch and answering a lot on annoying phonecalls from our secretary’s friends. They talk everyday for hours; you think that she’d mention not being here. I’m currently working on three projects: the weekly search, installing a new hard drive in our info server, and singing along to Counting Crows newest album – Hard Candy.

Needless to say, I freaked out the UPS guy when he came in the office.
