Still catching up on the weekend. Friday was McGuirks with Phil. We’re still working on the wingman thing. Saturday was Velvet with Reena. Met a Sara, whom I still have to call.

My sleep pattern on the weekends directly conflicts with the sleep I need to get to function during the weekdays. 2 to 4 in the morning is not acceptable as a bedtime when you need to be up by 7AM at the latest.

After Bush’s rambling pack of half-truths last night, I went and saw Greg Palast speak last night. Greg is an old school investigative reporter that has uncovered blatant evidence of vote tampering in Florida’s 2000 election practices by the Bushes, exposed Enron before its crash, and continually portrayed the IMF and World Bank for the corrupt business schills that they are. The contrast in styles, content, demeanor, and implied ethics between him and Bush was so striking that I was lost in a haze for the rest of the night. One thing particularly stood out. After each story of corruption and manipulation, Greg would produce documents proving his claims. I still waiting on any type of proof from Bush.

I work so hard to avoid becoming a crazy conspiracy-type liberal. It’s getting harder when the conspirators are so blatant. Nothing like inviting only your business buddies to profit from a war you haven’t started yet. Kickbacks and payoffs abound.

I’m just glad I filled my gas tank before Monday night.

Not much going on today. Yesterday, I spent my lunch break napping on a bench, soaking up the sun and warm weather. I enjoy lounging around Clayton in my business attire. It’s funny to see the looks of bankers, lawyers, and secretaries when they see me laying in the grass while wearing a suit & tie.

Crime & Punishment is still kicking my ass. How many plot twists can be thrown into a simple murder story? If my family, old school mates, two unsuitable suitors to my sister, a clueless housekeeper, a clumsy drunk, his prostitute daughter and destitute family all hounded me for days on end, I’d go mad and confess to being a murderer as well. Geesh.

I’m trying to arrange crashing a Fish Fry tomorrow with St. Pat’s festivities to follow.

I signed up today for the Foreign Service Exam for April 12. However, looking at the suggested reading list, I may be a little unprepared. Nothing like cramming for a test I signed up for on a whim.

Just had my interview for the reality TV show – “Around the World in 80 Dates.” Mostly, the interviewers focused on my inclination to redheads and being a Quaker. As the two women in the room were redheads (one natural and one dyed), I don’t feel like this hurt my chances. What did hurt my chances were the male models all waiting for their interviews. Jesus, nothing boosts your confidence like sitting next to a Fabio clone.

Ran into Ed this weekend and Ed ran away. Eh, not like I miss his sparkling conversational skills.
